Characteristics of Prophets

 Characteristics of Prophets:

(1) Anthropology:

Allah Ta'ala has always sent a human being as a prophet to guide mankind. Not to any jinn or angel.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur'an:

Surah Yusuf verse 109:

Translation:

And as many as We sent before you, they were all men.

Prophets are human beings, but Allah Almighty has blessed them with qualities that are not found in others. Some people had the misconception that a man cannot be a prophet. The Prophet must be an angel. In response, Allah Almighty said.

Surah Al-Israa verse 95:

Translation:

Tell them that if the angels were walking in peace on earth, We would have sent an angel from heaven as a messenger for them.

(2) Amen:

Messengership is a blessing that comes only by the grace of Allah Almighty and Allah bestows it on whomever He wills. No one can achieve it by his own efforts. It is not something that can be achieved only through worship and austerity. This is Allah's grace, which He gives to whomever He wills.

However, all the people who were given this position possessed high qualities like goodness, piety, intelligence and determination and courage.

(3) Proclamation of Divine Commandments:

The commands and teachings that the Prophet gives to the people are all from Allah Almighty. The Prophet does not speak on his own behalf. He is the spokesperson of Allah Ta'ala.

(4) Innocence:

All the Messengers of Allah Ta'ala are innocent and free from sins. Their words and deeds are protected from the interference of Satan. The role of a prophet is flawless. He is such a perfect person who is the owner of unlimited spiritual power, no work of the Prophet is subject to the desires of the soul.

(5) Obligatory Obedience:

It is necessary to obey and follow the prophets.

Allah Ta'ala says in the Holy Qur'an:

Surah Al-Nisa verse 64:

Translation:

And the Prophet whom We have sent, We have sent him so that his order may be obeyed according to God's decree.

The Prophet shows the way to Allah, so obeying him is obeying Allah. In the same way, the Prophet explains the Book of Allah. Prophet is the teacher of Ummah. There is an example for the Ummah. The divine law is the interpretation and the judge and command.

Requirement of Messenger:

Allah Ta'ala sent messengers from among humans to guide humans.

Allah has said:

Surah Al-Nahl Verses 43, 44:

Translation:

Whenever We sent messengers before you, we sent only men. To whom we used to reveal our messages. If you people do not know, then ask the Ahl-e-Zikr. We had also sent the previous Messengers with bright signs and books. And now this dhikr has been revealed to you. So that you explain to the people the interpretation of this teaching, which has been revealed for them.

Revelation:

Although there is no set age for Prophethood, but most of the Prophets have received Prophethood through revelation at a mature age. Revelation means secretly putting something in the heart, indicating or conveying a message through an angel. In the term of religion, it means the message of Allah Ta'ala. Which He revealed to one of His messengers through an angel. Or put it directly into his heart or made him hear it from behind a screen. In the Quran, the word revelation is used in these three meanings.

In Quraan Majeed :

Surah Shura verse 51:

 Translation:

And it is not the status of a human being that Allah should talk to him face to face. He either speaks through revelation or from behind a veil, or He sends a messenger and Allah reveals what He wills by His command.
