What are the rights of the spouses in Islam?

Mutual Rights of Spouses in Islam :

The basic unit of society is the home and the peace and prosperity of the home depends on the happy relationship between husband and wife. Its excellence is the cause of happiness not only of two individuals but also of two families and as a result the entire society. If there is a deterioration in their relationship, then this situation weakens many relationships. While determining the rights of spouses, Allah Ta'ala has said at one place in the Holy Qur'an:

Surah Al-Baqarah verse 228:

Translation:

And women also have the right. According  as men have a right to them. And men have a degree of superiority over women.

But this status is only to entrust the management of the house to a more courageous and strong personality, not to keep oppression on women. Islam is the only religion which restored the honor of women. And instead of giving men the authority to rule over them, he assigned the responsibility of protecting them and advised that wives should be treated well. The Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) made good behavior towards wives a standard of goodness and kindness.

Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) said:

Translation:

The best of you is the one who is good to his wife.

Once a Sahabi asked the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) . "O Messenger of Allah! What is right does a wife have over her husband?" The Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) said, “ Whatever you eat yourself, feed it to your wife. Dress your wife as you wear yourself. Do not slap your wife on the face, do not speak ill of your wife ”.The Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) was so concerned about the rights of wives that he exhorted them to behave well in his farewell sermon. Allah, the Exalted, while describing the qualities of good wives, said:

Surah Al-Nisa verse no. 34:

Translation:

Those who are virtuous wives follow the orders of men and warn behind their backs in the protection of God.

Where men are entrusted with the responsibility of supporting and protecting their wives and children as the chief administrator, women are bound to remain faithful and obedient to men. It is important for the spouses to avoid sinful life and be faithful to each other.

The status of a husband for a Muslim wife can be estimated from this saying of the Prophet Muhammad Mustafa(peace be upon him)  . "If I ordered to prostrate to someone other than God, I would have told the wife to prostrate to her husband." The husband has also been advised not to abuse his authority and be harsh on his wife. Rather, if some faults are found in the wife, then he should forgive her and value her virtues. Allah Ta'ala has said about this in the Holy Qur'an.

Surah Al-Nisa verse 19:

Translation:

And live with them in a good way, be patient with them if you dislike them, then no wonder you dislike something and Allah will create many good things in it.

This is explained by a hadith of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) . In which the Holy Prophet Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) said, "Seeing any evil in your wives, do not hate them. If you think about it, you will definitely see some good in them."

Allah Ta'ala has said in the Holy Qur'an:

 Translation:

And give women their dowries willingly, and if they leave some of it willingly, eat it with relish.

Allah Ta'ala has said in another place in the Holy Qur'an:

Translation:

Parents and relatives who die leaving property. Whether that property is more or less, men have a share in it and women also have a share. These parts are ordained by God.
